Salt And Light - Pastor David Gomez (Matthew 5:13-16)
Salt had a wide number of uses in the ancient world. Salt was extremely important and it was even used as currency, from which the word salary comes from. Salt was also used as a preservative. A preservative is a substance used to preserve materials against decay. It is our duty as disciples to preserve the purity of the world. To be the Voice of Right and Reason of this sinful dying world!
Did you know that Epsom Salt is a great fertilizer? Disciples should be fertilizers and light to help the World.
If all you do when you hang around people that don’t know Christ is act like them, Talk like them, if you’re so busy trying to fit in, instead of standing out, Then you have lost your flavor as salt and are not shining your light in a world with so much chaos, stress, grief and darkness.
Where there is No Salt, there is No Flavor. Where there is No Light, there is Darkness. Where there is darkness people cannot see. Where there is darkness you should be that light of God helping, and showing them where to Go! God is not saying to be Perfect but he is saying you should Stand Out! Make a difference. Be the Flavor, Be the Light for Jesus Christ!
